Part of what I've enjoyed most is the feeling that listening to some of these albums - in full - creates. There's a wholly more engaging environment created when you listen to an album of music in its entirety, rather than a lone track in an iTunes genius playlist, random recommendations from an online streaming service, or some other means of creating track listing.
A lot of time was spent by the artist selecting the order in which they wanted you to hear their music. Thought given to what precedes and what follows any track you listen to.
In a world gone mad for playlists, algorithmic song recommendations and singles, listening to an album - let alone an artist's discography - is a far more enjoyable experience.
So, go now - find track one and drop the needle...
