I loved the gentle acoustic guitar, delicate string parts, tasteful piano, and Lena's voice. For me personally I also have an inexplainable connection to most things from the Nordic countries! I also immediately appreciated that the seemingly simple-sounding track was largely in 5/4 timing - a refreshing change from the exhausted 4/4 time signature so dominant in modern music and music in a similar pop-folk style.
After recently purchasing Lena's album "Letters From The Faroes" I had a similar strong connection to the track "My All Time Favourite Song" (play a sample below). The track at first seems so simple, but especially through headphones the layers reveal themselves in surprising depth. And man, does this track stay in your head!
Give it a listen. It's great music likely to go largely unnoticed by an unknowing world.
