For several years I had been working in an office environment, in hindsight very fortunate to have been sitting on a Herman Miller Aeron chair. It was endlessly adjustable, but seemed to just "fit" and maintain its comfort with little tweaking.
In my studio I had never been as comfortable. At times I would be working mixing a track for hours on end, getting lost in the music and becoming negligent with taking a break to stretch my legs and back. The days after these occasions I would feel very sore and "used".
Recently I found a good deal on a Herman Miller Mirra chair, very much like an Aeron but less finely-adjustable and slightly more friendly to the budget. I'm very pleased with the result. I feel comfortable and able to work for a longer period without physically feeling a need to move.
If you're tired of replacing the worn out mid-range office chair you've been tolerating for year after year, I strongly recommend making an investment. These things are built like tanks and the comfort will last. Thank goodness.
